Your support will make a real difference.
This project directly supports the valuable work The Kartika Soekarno Foundation and Bali Children Foundation deliver in the Songan community in Bali, Indonesia.
The Kartika Soekarno Foundation was established in 1998 and has extensive experience working with at-risk mothers and infants in under-resourced districts through the Foundation's Maternal and Infant Health Program throughout Indonesia.
This project focuses on childhood stunting, which has long-term effects on individuals and societies, including diminished cognitive and physical development, reduced productive activity and poor health, and an increased risk of degenerative diseases such as diabetes.
We believe that with your help, we can prevent more children from growing up with this debilitating issue.
The Infant Welfare Project at Songan, Bali, was established to address the problems in the area - working initially with 3 villages to consistently supply support for parents, babies and toddlers every month for a 3 yr period.
The first 1,000 days of a child's life can have a lasting impact on the rest of their life in terms of physical and mental health as well as their education. Together we can improve those vital first days of a child's life.
"KSF is making such a difference in ensuring that Indonesian children realise their full potential through the promotion of community health and quality education. KSF's synergy with the existing network of Posyandu and its work at the community level in enhancing education is a sound approach." - H.E. DR. MARTY M.
