I'm fundraising for...
It's always been a goal of mine to do an extreme physical challenge for charity. After researching for a while, I came across the Bali Hope Ultra Marathon and knew it was the one!
The challenge:
I am running 84km (Double Marathon) overnight coast-to-coast across Bali. The make things easier, the first 20km has a 1500m elevation. I've never even ran a marathon, so to say this will be a challenge is an understatement!
More importantly, the cause:
I am raising money for the award winning charity, the Bali Children Foundation. While many of us enjoy the luxuries of Bali as one of our favourite holiday spots, unfortunately the majority of the locals live in extreme poverty.
The money raised will help to lift-up a disadvantaged community in Bali with the award-winning Bali Children Foundation as well as providing education and resources to underprivileged children. We take education for granted and see it as the norm, but that isn't the case for the children of Bali.
To give some context behind how some of the money raised will be used:
- $25/£22 will feed a family of 4 with basics for a month
- $100/£87 provides food support and essential vitamins for a malnourished child for 3 months
- $220/£190 puts an elementary school child through a scholarship for one year.
If you can donate any amount it would be massively appreciated and will have a huge impact on someone’s life who is less fortunate.
