Saturday, May 27th 2023, I will be racing across Bali, in an 84K UltraMarathon, coast to coast, over nearly 2000m of elevation, throughout the night.
Remote communities in Bali suffer from extreme poverty. Most families survive on small amounts of money sent from their employed children. Now thousands are out of work, without any social services safety net and these remittances have stopped.
$100 provides food support and essential vitamins for a malnourished child for 3 months.
$220 puts an elementary school child through a scholarship for ONE YEAR.
$600 feeds a family of 4 with basics for 2 YEARS.
$1100 puts a child through the entirety of primary school (5 YEARS).
