As many of you know, I’ve been working towards my first big running goal — 84km overnight across Bali, finishing in Canggu on May 25, 2025.
Having never run a marathon before, signing up for an ultra might seem a little crazy. But I’ve come to realise that a little crazy works for me.
Like so many expats and tourists, I’ve soaked up everything Bali has to offer — the good food, cheap massages and incredible warmth of the locals. People often call it paradise, and in many ways, it is. But beyond the tourist hotspots, some local communities are left behind. These realities are easy to ignore, but I’ve chosen not to.
One of the most powerful ways to break cycles of poverty? Education.
I’m running the Bali Hope Ultra in support of Bali Children Foundation — an organisation that helps disadvantaged locals access education, graduate and gain employment.
If you’ve ever visited Bali or simply believe in the power of education, I’d be so grateful for your support. Every little bit counts.
Thank you and much love, Pip x
