Love for Lembongan: Community and Education
Please Help Us Reach Our Goal
Love for Lembongan
Love for Lembongan was created by The Lembongan Traveller to give back to the island community that has given so much to so many.
For visitors, Nusa Lembongan is a place of beauty, connection and unforgettable memories. For local families, access to education, healthcare and community support can be life-changing.
In partnership with Bali Children Foundation and East Medical, Love for Lembongan supports education, healthcare and community care initiatives that create meaningful, lasting impact for local children, families and vulnerable community members.
Your donation helps local children access better learning opportunities, supports families with essential healthcare, and helps us respond when community support is needed most.
Where Your Support Makes a Difference
Your donation supports three key areas:
Education & Opportunity
Helping local children improve literacy, numeracy and English language skills, while supporting teachers with training, mentoring and classroom resources.
Health & Wellbeing
Helping vulnerable individuals and families access medical care, specialist appointments, transport, equipment and ongoing support.
Community Care
Responding to local needs and supporting projects that strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of the Nusa Lembongan community.
Together, We've Made a Difference
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Love for Lembongan continues to create meaningful outcomes for the people and communities of Nusa Lembongan.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Together, we raised more than AU$100,000 to support families across Nusa Lembongan during one of the island’s most challenging times. Funds raised helped provide:
- Emergency food assistance for local families
- Healthcare support for vulnerable community members
- Essential supplies for households impacted by the loss of income and tourism
Education & Opportunity
Through our partnership with Bali Children Foundation, we continue to invest in the education of local children and the professional development of teachers.
This year, support has helped provide:
- Education Technology program for 184 Grade 1 students across five primary schools to improve literacy and numeracy skills
- Ongoing teacher training, classroom mentoring and parent engagement to strengthen long-term learning outcomes
- English for Futures program for 622 Grade 4–6 students across five primary schools to develop confidence and practical communication skills to prepare for future opportunities.
Health & Wellbeing
Love for Lembongan continues to support vulnerable members of the community by helping families access healthcare, specialist services, mobility support and ongoing care that would otherwise be difficult to obtain.
This year, support has helped provide:
- Ongoing community health visits— providing medical assistance, blood pressure and diabetes medication, diapers and care packages for elderly and vulnerable residents
- Pandu— ongoing assistance for cerebral palsy care and support
- Axel— support for cleft lip treatment
- Putu Sunariasih— support for epilepsy care
- Wayan Rakiana— support for prosthetic leg servicing following amputation
- Asti and her children— psychological support and medical check-ups in Denpasar
- Mobility and comfort support— providing wheelchair cushions, walking sticks, bed mattresses and other practical equipment for elderly and vulnerable residents
Each of these initiatives reflects our commitment to helping local families and vulnerable community members receive care, dignity and support during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Community Care
Love for Lembongan also responds to urgent and emerging community needs, working with trusted local partners to support the wellbeing and resilience of the island community.
Recent initiatives include:
- Women’s health screening— supporting a preventative cervical cancer screening program in partnership with Bunda, a registered nurse on Nusa Lembongan, to improve access to women’s healthcare and early detection
- Ketut Stanley and his family— providing emergency assistance after their home was destroyed by fire, helping them begin the recovery process during an incredibly difficult time
Our Partnerships
Together, we combine local knowledge, trusted relationships and professional support to deliver meaningful education, healthcare and community care initiatives across Nusa Lembongan.
Bali Children Foundation supports the delivery of education programs that improve literacy, numeracy, English language learning and teacher development across local schools.
East Medical supports our healthcare and community care initiatives, helping connect elderly and disadvantaged residents with home visits, care guidance and specialist medical services in Bali when further treatment is needed.
By working together, we can respond to real community needs and create lasting impact for the people of Nusa Lembongan.
Why Donate?
Every contribution makes a difference.
Whether you donate $10 or $500, your support helps create opportunities for local children, families and vulnerable community members.
If Nusa Lembongan has given you special memories, meaningful connections or a place you love returning to, this is a way to give back to the people who make the island so special.
Together, we can support the community behind the island we all love.

Update
Help Pandu Move Forward
At Love for Lembongan, we believe that every member of our community deserves the opportunity to experience life with comfort, dignity, and support.
We're currently raising funds for Pandu, a young boy from Nusa Lembongan who lives with cerebral palsy. Pandu needs a specialised wheelchair that will provide the support and comfort he requires for daily life.
For Pandu and his family, this wheelchair means so much more than mobility. It will allow him to travel more comfortably, whether visiting family, attending appointments, spending time outdoors, or simply experiencing more of the world around him with the support of those who care for him.
As part of this initiative, we are also hoping to help bring Pandu to Bali, where he can access medical consultations and treatment that are not readily available on the island.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us move closer to providing both the wheelchair and the medical support that Pandu needs.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the life of one of our own.
Thank you for supporting Pandu and helping us show the strength and compassion of the Lembongan community.
Health Visits to Lembongan Village
In May 2026, Love for Lembongan team together with East Medical Care Center visited elderly and special needs residents in Lembongan Village as part of our regular community support program with Bali Children Foundation 🩷
From general health check-ups to simply spending time listening and understanding their daily needs, these visits are a small way for us to continue caring for the local community that makes this island so special 🌴
Every contribution helps us continue providing support, care, and assistance for elderly residents in Nusa Lembongan.
Health Visits to Jungutbatu
In October 2025, Love for Lembongan team visited elderly residents in Jungutbatu for medical check-ups and medicine deliveries. From monitoring vitals to making sure they get the treatment they need, these visits bring comfort, connection and care.
Thank you to Bunda, East Medical Care Center team, and Bali Children Foundation for supporting this mission.
Your donation helps us continue reaching those who can’t reach us.
Reaching Out with Care: Health Visits to Nusa Ceningan
In September 2025, our Love for Lembongan journey took us to Nusa Ceningan, together with the medical teams from East Medical Clinic and Puskesmas (local hospital). Our goal was to check on priority patients and elderly needing ongoing care, providing blood pressure and sugar checks, medication, and multivitamins to support their recovery and wellbeing.
Among the many people we met was Pandu, a bright young boy living with cerebral palsy. His father lovingly built him a handmade wheelchair, but Pandu now needs a special wheelchair to support his posture and mobility — something difficult to access on the island. We’re hoping to raise funds to help him get the wheelchair he deserves.
Every visit reminds us of the importance of accessible healthcare within our island community. With your support, Love for Lembongan can continue to provide essential care, physiotherapy, and medical equipment for those in need. Together, we can build a healthier, kinder future for Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
Women’s Health in Focus: VIA Test with Bunda
In May 2025, we partnered with Bunda, our registered nurse on Nusa Lembongan, to run a VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) screening for early detection of cervical cancer. Held in a comfortable and confidential setting, the program reached 30 local mothers of Nusa Lembongan.
Beyond the test itself, Bunda provided personalised health education, raising awareness about cervical cancer prevention and the importance of regular checkups. For many of these women, this was more than a health service—it was a moment of empowerment and reassurance. With early detection being key, we’re proud to support initiatives that prioritise the wellbeing of Lembongan’s women and families.
EdTech Accelerates and Makes Learning Fun
Our EdTech and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) programs continue to thrive! Since launching in September 2024, 147 Grade 1 students across five local schools now use tablets loaded with engaging literacy and numeracy apps. During our March 2025 visit to SDN 3 Lembongan, we saw how this technology is making learning more fun and effective. We're thrilled to share that students from Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan achieved the highest midline scores in Bali—an incredible testament to their progress!

Priority Patient Visit with Bunda
Alone we can do a little,
Together we can do so much!
When we started @love_for_lembongan in 2020, we met many faces of the community; from children to seniors who were in dire need of help.
Since then we have committed ourselves to do what we can to support their health and wellbeing in whatever ways we can, with the help of Bunda (@rakamanik_puja), a professionally trained nurse and Jungutbatu local.
In May 2024, we went to visit 10 patients in Lembongan village and Nusa Ceningan, for home visits and health check ups. With her utmost tender care, Bunda checked on each patient, gave medication, milk, and other essentials, thanks to donation from Love for Lembongan.
The patients are varied in conditions, some showed progress whilst some required further attention and care. Most of them live in a remote part of the island, with rocky roads and limited access but seeing the patients smile after our visit brings us the most joy.
Support our initiative by donating through the link in our bio and help us build a thriving community through health and education.
