Mt Lewotobi - Flores Emergency Response:
Providing Menstrual Dignity Kit for 1,000 Women
The recent Mt. Lewotobi’s volcanic eruption in Flores, Indonesia, has impacted 11,073 individuals by displacing families and cutting off access to essential resources like clean water, air, and electricity. The Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) reported 6,448 women and girls have been displaced to emergency camps and are facing risks due to these disruptions, with limited access to proper menstrual care and sanitation infrastructure. Managing menstruation under these emergency conditions can significantly impact a woman’s dignity, safety, and health.
Menstrual health is more than a hygiene issue—it’s a matter of gender equity, human rights, and resilience in the face of crisis. By providing critical menstrual supplies to 1,000 women and girls at emergency camps in Flores, we can restore security and dignity during a difficult time. Each period-kit will support protecting women’s health, improving sanitation, and empowering them to maintain resilience and self-respect despite the crisis.
All items come in a locally made, plastic-free bag, ensuring a sustainable response. Your donation will make an immediate impact, supporting women’s health and dignity when they need it most.
