I'm fundraising to make a difference for Indonesian communities impacted by the global pandemic!
Where do we start? “With ourselves, our front doorstep, In small places, close to home – so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. Such are the places where every man, woman, and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, and equal dignity, without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere.”
WHAT: Movement for a cause
WHEN: MAy 30th
As you may know, myself and 20 others were meant to be running an ultramarathon this week. We can't do that due to the circumstance, but we can still get moving together and contribute to a good cause, that needs us now more than ever. My go-jek driver was in tears when I gave him a 20,000 Rph tip last night.... It's not about the money, its about the impact. Help us have a positive social impact.
Bali is such a beautiful and nourishing Island that has nourished me in the past 5 years +, this page is simply a way of sharing and circulating some energy back to support and nourish others.
I feel like it's easy to step away and focus on ourselves.... but my heart says that it is time to share and circulate more than ever.
- Contribute AU$25/US$16 donations to take on a swim, run, walk, or another personal challenge with 100% of funds going directly to the Bali Children Foundation and the local communities who need it most right now.
OPTION A - a Simple Process
You contribute below & Register to move for a cause on May 30th.
We buy produce from local farmers who have excess food and no income
With the help of others, we distribute the food to the communities in most need right now (not tomorrow, or in 3 months time)
You create good karma and help strangers meet their basic human needs. You feel good.
Do it with others
OPTION B - Alternatively
Register to move for a good cause
Contribute 2 hours of time or contribute $25 to a cause in your local proximity without needing to tell anyone about it :) Some friends of ours have been leaving food packages on the bench for their local friends and workers to share with their proximity. Every household can have an impact.
The reason why we chose to work with Marg Barry and the Bali children's foundation is that after 30 years of creating measurable social impact on the island. It became clear that her team Is tuned into the communities that need it most right now.
This is a collaborative effort too. ROLE Foundation, Baliwise, Scholars of sustenance, the Good food brotherhood, Bali Aid and others are working together. Sharing resources and ensuring we are sharing and circulating resources in the right way.
In the meantime, where ever you are in the world. We can all make a positive impact at our front doorstep and in our local community.
Start there and If Bali has nourished your journey, feel free to share and circulate to help us, help those who need support most right now.
